Studio Founder
Jabeen Yusuf (she/her) is a seasoned social impact strategist and brand marketer. Prior to founding Health+ Studio, Jabeen was Vice President of Strategic Engagement at the Center for Youth Wellness, a pediatric healthcare nonprofit organization founded by former California Surgeon General Dr. Nadine Burke Harris to improve health outcomes for children impacted by trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Jabeen led the center’s marketing communications, thought leadership, and public education efforts, including the national Stress Health Public Education initiative.
In addition, Jabeen spent 20 years spearheading brand strategies for global brands such as Procter & Gamble and Google. She led Ad Council campaigns for Partnership for a Drug-Free America and American Psychological Association (APA). Jabeen sits on the board of YES Nature to Neighborhoods, a community-based nonprofit providing leadership pathways through nature enrichment to youth and families.
She is an experienced Design Thinking practitioner and was a cohort for the California College of the Arts (CCA) Leading by Design Fellows Program. She is a magna cum laude graduate of FIT School of Art and Design in New York City.
A citizen of the world, Jabeen was born in Pakistan and spent her formative school years in Saudi Arabia. She speaks English, Hindi, and Urdu fluently and can understand conversational Arabic. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and daughter.
Studio Founder
Sara Silvério Marques (she/her) is an experienced public health leader. Sara believes deeply in the power of thought partnership and “building better together.” Her experience spans direct service, program management, capacity building, research, and policy advocacy. She has worked in community-based organizations and as part of state, national, and multicountry efforts.
Prior to Health+ Studio, Sara was on the leadership team at the Center for Youth Wellness, a pediatric healthcare nonprofit organization founded by former California Surgeon General Dr. Nadine Burke Harris to improve health outcomes for children impacted by trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). She led the organization’s strategy on field building, which included cross-sector policy advocacy, statewide coalition building, and healthcare provider training and technical assistance.
Sara has developed and implemented many public health and health promotion programs, including peer education, parenting, workforce reentry, and opportunity youth programs. Her work has also included capacity building and training around effective program design in childhood trauma, youth development, violence prevention, sexual health promotion, and family support programming.
Sara earned her Doctor of Public Health degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Public Health, with a focus on global health promotion, from George Washington University.
Sara is a first-generation American and native of the Washington, D.C., area, with family roots in Portugal and El Salvador. She speaks English, Portuguese, and Spanish fluently. She lives in Portland, Oregon, with her family.
Project Coordinator
Danni Gong (she/her) is a Project Coordinator at Health+ Studio. She is a Jill-of-all-trades who feels like she’s done a little bit of everything, including book publishing, mobile game localization, youth mental health support and advocacy, nonprofit communications, content marketing, freelance copyediting and writing, hospital clerical work, and library work.
Danni gravitates toward projects that advance equity and accessibility for all, especially those that have a mental health or disability focus. She identifies as a mental health peer and has a background in peer work with youth involved in the wraparound process in Washington County, Oregon. She often uses her lived experience navigating systems as a framework through which to examine those systems and advocate for change.
Danni has a degree in English literature from University of California, Berkeley, where she studied poetry and poetics. A Central Valley native, she lives in Modesto, California, with her partner and two canine children, Biscuit and Jot.
Content Manager
Kathleen Miller (she/her) is a content manager at Health+. She is a communications professional with a deep background in content development and creative partnerships, and more than 10 years of experience working in publishing and communications in a variety of roles, including editorial development, book production, product design, and account management. She’s honed her creative instincts across a wide array of subject areas, including academic texts, professional development tools, Japanese comics, programming manuals, cookbooks, picture books, and specialty gifting (including everything from puzzles to dog bandanas!).
Born and raised in the Bay Area (unceded ancestral homeland of Ramaytush, Miwok, Tamien, Awaswas, Mutsun, and Chochenyo Ohlone), Kathleen holds a dual BA in English and rhetoric from University of California, Berkeley and currently calls Oakland home. In her spare time, you can find her digging in the garden, volunteering at local concerts and literary events, hiking and biking, and exploring California’s many natural wonders.

Diana Hembree (she/her) is a collaborating editor and writer at Health+ Studio. She is a health and science journalist who is the cofounding editor of MindSite News, an online news site focused on reporting on mental health in America. She also served as a senior editor at Time Inc. Health and its physician’s magazine, Hippocrates; and as a reporter and news editor at the Center for Investigative Reporting for more than 10 years.
Writer
Dominique Mann (she/her) collaborates with Health+ Studio as a senior writer. Dominique founded As Any Mann Productions, a multimedia production company that imagines and creates stories through written media, TV, film, audio, and immersive experiences. Through this company, Dominique and her colleagues partner with organizations across sectors to bring these stories to life. She is a former NBC journalist and an Obama White House alum. She has also been a producer for CBS and BET News. Her work has been featured in publications such as Glamour, and she has been recognized in Essence magazine and The Boston Globe, among other outlets. For most of her life, Dominique has also focused on community work, from volunteering translations for the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues to grassroots organizing and youth mentorship. Dominique grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from Columbia University.
Research Adviser
Greg Mitchell (he/him) collaborates with Health+ Studio as a senior research adviser. The founder of Sharpen Consulting, out of New York and Brussels. He is an accomplished strategic communications researcher who believes in the power of empathy and connection in designing products, services, and experiences. He is trained in Design Thinking and brings the principles of human-centered design to research initiatives. Greg has deep experience in product-oriented research, using both qualitative and quantitative methods, including foundational research, usability research, Jobs to Be Done, and product/service satisfaction. Lastly, he is a trained focus group moderator experienced in uncovering audience needs and engagement strategies that drive awareness and action.
Community Engagement Specialist
Heather Imboden (she/her) collaborates with Health+ Studio as a community engagement specialist. Heather is the founder of Communities in Collaboration. She blends her skills and expertise in community engagement and facilitation, outreach, and analysis with her expertise in community and economic development to lift community voice in partnership with diverse stakeholder groups for nonprofits, foundations, and government agencies. Heather’s work often focuses on advancing equity at the intersection of education, workforce development, and neighborhood revitalization. She is committed to local capacity development, striving to share her knowledge of the tools of engagement so that communities have a greater ability to advocate on behalf of themselves.
Graphic Designer
Jay Carskadden (she/her) collaborates with Health+ Studio as an independent, freelance graphic designer. She runs a design and marketing studio located in the Pacific Northwest and has experience with clients large and small doing all kinds of good work: from land conservationists, craft chocolate makers, and sustainable farmers to educators, health professionals, and working artists who speak their truth.

Jenn Marshall (she/her) collaborates with Health+ Studio as a content strategist, writer, and editor. As the founder of the consultancy Writeworks, she brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing, public relations, and corporate communications across industries including healthcare, government, technology, and environmental consulting/sustainability. Jenn is drawn to mission-driven work that helps make the world a better place. In addition to Health+, other favorite clients include the San Mateo County Sustainability Department and the UCLA–UCSF ACEs Aware Family Resilience Network (UCAAN). She first connected with Health+ founders Sara and Jabeen while freelancing for the Center for Youth Wellness, a pediatric healthcare nonprofit founded by former California Surgeon General Dr. Nadine Burke Harris.
Creative Director & Writer
Jessica von Rohr (she/her) collaborates with Health+ Studio as a creative director, strategic storyteller, and content creator. She has 20-plus years of experience across ad agencies, design studios, and marketing firms, where she’s helped launch, evolve, and reinvent brands. She loves all things copy, with a specialty in crafting narratives that are both strategically grounded and emotionally resonant. Jessica has led rebranding efforts for several businesses and organizations and has found her niche creating messaging frameworks and platforms for purpose-driven companies. She also brings deep experience in family-focused brands, including Disney, Thermos, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Leslie Ernst (she/her) collaborates with Health+ Studio as a producer. She has 20-plus years of experience in marketing, entertainment, and advertising. Leslie has had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from websites, mobile apps, and contests to social content, live events, and photo and video shoots. Known for an eye for detail and a hands-on approach, she thrives on transforming creative ideas into flawlessly executed productions. Leslie takes pride in contributing to projects of all shapes and sizes, whether it’s managing budgets and timelines, finding creative solutions to keep things moving forward, or collaborating with clients and teams to turn complex ideas into successful outcomes.

Megan Newell (she/her) collaborates with Health+ as a senior graphic designer.
She holds over 13 years of experience in print- and web-based design and collaborates with Health+ as a senior graphic designer. Located in Portland, OR, she is dedicated to creating a healthier, inclusive, and more informed world through dynamic visual storytelling.
Developer
Nate Micinski (he/him) collaborates with Health+ as a developer. He is the founder of Vaya Digital and has over six years of professional experience building beautifully responsive, intuitive, and resilient websites, mobile apps, and full-stack applications, including this very website.
With a background in cultural studies and having worked for nonprofits, Nate understands the unique needs of mission-driven organizations and the importance of collaborative communication in bringing their projects to life. He is skilled not just in building digital things but in offering consultation, directing projects, and providing guidance throughout the process.
Nate lives in California and when he’s not at the keyboard he can be found playing soccer or vacuuming the hair from his dog and three cats.
Researcher & Evaluator
Theresa Chen (she/her) collaborates with Health+ as a community-focused researcher and evaluator. She has over 20 years of experience across the public, nonprofit, and philanthropic sectors. She specializes in helping grassroots organizations use data and community stories to strengthen programs and influence policy. At Stop AAPI Hate, she led the nation’s largest community reporting system for anti-Asian hate, producing widely cited reports that elevated community experiences. Her other previous work experience includes building evaluation and learning systems for an international philanthropy and publishing policy research on students of color in California. She partners with nonprofits and foundations to assess their impact and amplify the voices of the communities they serve.
